Great Keeper of the Library,

I made a vow to Brother Malkin that I would never bother him again. This is the reason for my missive to you. I am sure Lady Torchwood can obscure anything about your identity in the books if this is a concern. Somehow I have a copy of all the books again and even Book 8 in my bags! Hmm, the wonders of the Light never cease.

Now to the point – I am scared!

It is a love for and a lack of knowledge that I write you. I never knew Brother Malkin was ordered to stay put or I would have never given him such grief over a completely incorrect perception of dismissal of his friendship and bonds with the Defilers.

I am nearly 53 years old by the Dwarven calendar we kept time with in my former homeland. In the last 5 years I have watched my dearest friends be handed over to rune partners. I have watched some of my tribe become swayed to darkness. I have had to bury over half of the elders of my tribe and my mother among them. I endured torture to save my second father from darkness. I have asked people of my tribe to further risk themselves for the light and hear how they died, my brother among them. My childhood crush now wishes for Anubis to torture my soul for all eternity. I have watched a mentor get ripped to pieces by a tornado. I have had to murder four of my tribe for betrayal and murder of our tribemates! I don’t even know how many of them are left or even if they ever want to hear my name again?

Only Brother Malkin would understand why I keep the silver skull of Arhaleg Hescu. Only he would appreciate me wanting to have it reside in the Library so a scholars’ soul may find peace among the books. I know slaying the minions of the dark doesn’t make the words I said go away or the hurt reverse itself as a broken plate on the floor can attest, but I am sorry.

These events coupled with my ignorance of the world makes for awkward situations. If you, Great Keeper, feel like sharing this with Brother Malkin do so only of your free will. I ask for your judgement of me and hope the Lawgiver’s judgement keep you and yours safe.

Repentant I sign this,

Xerx’ses Goldenhorn,
War Wizard of CrIsis,
aka: Captain Osric Orghallar of Rogtilda
