Dream a Little Dream

Leave all worries behind you

My friend Moli,

This is a letter from your friend Silent Dream. My friends in CrIsis will wish to talk with Lictalon. I hope they will send you letters for Him as requested. I wish to talk to you. I will send you letters. I trust this will not anger Lictalon.

I have explained our kinship to CrIsis more than once. Some of them do not understand. It may not be in his their nature to understand. We all come from different places. We are united in this common goal but sometimes I think the Gods purposefully chose us for our differences. This way we each bring different views and voices to the problems of this quest.

I did not tell you that my old friend Red Snow sent me a letter. They wish for me to return to the tribe. I cannot return yet of course. But after this quest is over… I do not know. It would be nice to visit. However I do not think my place is there anymore.

It is true that I was very worried for you in Renvin. Your last letter did much to dissuade me of my fears. I am so glad you are doing well! I do have trouble picturing you in a formal uniform. Your letter did much to dispel my worries and fears. But I think a part of me is still worried for I had a troubling dream. This is what I remember.

I found myself in a fancy room. Somehow I knew it was yours and that you were there. The bed looked to be soft and comfortable, as you like. There were some large bookshelves in places around the room. On the wall were paintings that depicted scenes from your life as you described them to me. This is the way with dreams. I saw a painting of Llorn as you used to describe it to me. This reminded me of another woman I met at the the guild also resides in Llorn. She has also asked me to visit her there. Even The Duke VasPasseon of Llorn has written and invited CrIsis to visit there more than once. But I have digressed mightily. Other paintings I saw were of our times together in the woods and the beach near Arcadia.

When I looked back at the bed you were sitting there looking at me. I remember we talked. I do not remember all the words. You asked if we were coming. You said to me there was urgency for CrIsis to benefit Lictalon. I told you that we had our quest and many other obligations. It would be hard to visit soon. You understood. You said you explained this to Lictalon many times. But Lictalon has not understood and keeps pushing. He is actually here in Palladium and not in a different world. He is an impatient God, unlike Horus or Apis. He pressured you to write to me and convince us to come. The reborn Renvin is a wonderful and amazing paradise. But your connection to me and to CrIsis has placed you in a tenuous position. You worry for yourself and for all of CrIsis.

I said that I would try to impress this urgency upon CrIsis. But that wouldn’t change our obligations and responsibilities. You understood but worried for your safety. For your life. Lictalon is not evil but he is impatient. You did not know what He wanted but you knew it was something only CrIsis can give Him. There was not much more I could say. I tried to comfort you. We embraced. I asked you to believe in the Gods. I asked you to believe in us. You told me you do still believe in Horus and in CrIsis. The last thing you said to me was this. “I hope you will make it right in time for me to live, but I am willing…” Then my dream faded. Those last words echoed in my mind.

I do not take such dreams lightly. You know I never have. I hope this dream was wrong. If there is any truth to what I have dreamed please let me know. I do not know how I can get all of CrIsis to come visit Lictalon or Renvin in any haste. I know you know this. But also know that I am praying for you. And know that I will try.

May the Gods always stand between you and harm in all the empty places you walk.

Silent Dream. of Dream Lake. and of CrIsis.

  • Is this the real life….?
    is it just fantasy….?
    (No escape from reality?)

    • I’m not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters

    • I like the Queen reference.

  • This is the most I have learned about Dream, despite the one mind bond that has vanished some time back. Sadly, we gloss over a great deal of interpersonal actions between our troupe. As we have clearly moved into epic levels of the game this will only get more difficult. Toko, this is a great log!

    • It’s one thing to dump out a bunch of memories for someone to see, it’s another thing entirely to see the making of an important memory.

    • I agree with Brian on all points.

  • Interestingly, if Moli is right and not just paranoid then this may bode ill for any of us who have anyone we care about in Renvin.

  • If a God is insisting urgency, then what can mere “mortals” do to expedite the situation…

    • In the eyes of the god, “everything they have to.”
