URSUS FACES HIS FEAR

Fear is the mind killer
A conversation between Mr. Tooth & Ursus

WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!
I have no clue what your talking about.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME! You were near begging me to run, I could feel the fear you felt. I have never felt fear like that.
That was not fear, that was pragmatism.
Don’t try to confuse me with the big words, I have an idea what that means, I am linked with you, and it wasn’t pragmatic. That was shear unadulterated FEAR.
Like you haven’t felt fear before, I know better.
Yes there have been some things that I didn’t want to think about, the loss of my first that I’m not supposed to mention, the loss of my bonded or my childs, not being there for the birth of my childs, loss of members of Crisis. But, from what I have experienced that is normal, what I felt from you was on a whole other level.
Once you meet him, you may possibly understand. until then, I can’t possibly explain.
I recall something I heard many years ago, why I am recalling it now I can’t say, it just seems the right thing to say:
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
You amazing fool, thoughts like that just may get you killed and they just may help you to survive. I have fully underestimated you and your potential…

Fun, having the one that wants to kill all scalys being the cautious one! Nice work!

Fear is marvelous! Fear keeps you alive! Fear makes you dodge and parry! Fear is actually your best friend looking out for you!

Says you…
When the unreasonably single-minded, insatiable dragon killer tells you in no uncertain terms to run from a dragon, you run!
Yeah, but Ursus is still wondering what the big deal is…
