Dear Lady Torchwood,

~ The 28th of KYMNARKMAR ~

This is a fairly short log note but I thought I would expound on dinner with my second father, Rostam Stonemace. He is a scholar not unlike yourself, and his chosen field of study is combat: war, strategy, weapons, and armor. How it’s’ made, used, what weapons work best against it. Differences in a foe: bigger, smaller, other worldly. Oh I could go on and on and on. The evening air in Sekti-Abtu was pleasant and I could smell the sea once more. You might think that was possible in Lopania, but rest assured with the sulfur of Demons and the waste of a city living in one long makes you forget what the world smells like. I was frankly sick of identifying where I was by whose blood I could smell.

There is a small section of Sekti-Abtu for what Homans call larger folk. Xandria the Jeridu lives a few doors down from my father and t’would seem they have exchanged pleasantries without coming to blows! There is hope for my tribe yet! Apparently not every neighbor enjoys his presence and a Titan visiting from another world nearly drew down upon him one morning! That is until he heard this Minotaur was the father of Xerx’ses of CrIsis. Apparently, I met that Titan later whom was a member of the Defilers!

What I noticed that was wierd “to me” was how the perception of me has changed in Lopan. Vegetable vendors keep waving carrots in my direction to get my attention and I have to move slowly through town but no one is running from me in the Holy City. Acolytes of Apis keep trying to take small bits of my hair, and I had an alchemist try to offer me money for my horns!!! He was so adamant he was willing to take part on a per ounce basis!!! My friends made it clear pieces of me were not for sale at any price. I think there may be some bulls that should be wary of the alchemist passing off fake ground minotaur horn using them in bad ways.

I digress.

In the dragon month Master-Sister Caminata and I arrived at my father’s abode a wee bit before sun down after she had helped me pick out good wine to bring. She said it was an Elvish custom among her kin that lived in cities her mother taught her. When my father opened the door he was jovial and happy as his roast had just finished and he starred at Master-Sister Caminata and welcomed her inside with the spoken tongue of her people.

But wait the awkward moment is coming.

It wasn’t until dinner conversation that he asked the blunt question of how long we expected our relationship to last! I had spit my food out in utter shock and embarrassment!

“Father!! What the Hades?!!?”

He told me to calm myself he just wanted to know if my lover was going to move into a more permanent role. Master-Sister Caminata looked taken back and shocked, but was trying very hard not to laugh! I was suffering a small nightmare!

“Father!! What? Wait, this is NOT IANA!!!”

You see, Mistress Iana, was an elf I had learned how mating worked with and I had feelings develop for her but I never told her because it was clear Master Azariel had them at one time as well. Though he is married now…
…the awkwardness continues.

My father apologized trying to say that since I had a “thing” for elves he had assumed I was bringing Mistress Iana to meet him. Master-Sister Caminata laughed so hard banging her fist into the table and wheezed out her name and that we had “NEVER” done anything together. I was being baked into a roast of social obscurity having no where to escape to. Where’s an Alu Demon when you need one!!!

One of the top echelons of Wizards on the world, defeated by the confusion of his second father and a previous conversation. Epic Fail!

This led to three hours of every childhood story I thought would never see the light of day being shared with Master-Sister Caminata who learned more about me growing up, my crush on Luur’na, Minotaur society, and why I left than I ever thought could be shared. He even brought up the time I turned myself into a Cyclops Spider screwing up a scroll conversion!

That’s my father smiling and so happy looking that I had to hide how embarrassed I was because it was the happiest I had seen him since saving him. The walk home I was teased mercilessly by my friend for all the Winterhaven jokes I made the last two months.

Well played elf, well played.

~ Just before dawn 1st of Pegasus ~

I awoke from a vision which was very odd:

Each of us were seated on a pile of gold in the Sekti-Abtu Treasury, except for Master-Sister Caminata, whom was seated on the floor. In front of us are the Gods and Goddesses of Light.

Eye to eye with the Gods is Master Asher, who the gods face and each bow to. Apis separates herself from the group, as does Ra. Ra shakes Master Asher’s hand, and Apis whispers in his ear, “I expect the same.”

All the Gods then bow towards Xerx’ses, whose pile almost reaches Master Asher’s.

Thoth separates himself then, and walks over and shakes Master Overkill’s hand, who sits on a pile almost as large as Master Asher’s and Xerx’ses, but at least 1/10th lower.

The vision was very odd, but strangely comforting in a way I don’t understand. Still it bears recording.

Well enjoy your travels home.
