Every Time

CAVA’S DREAM:

I close my eyes and I see his face. I feel the white-hot agony of my flesh being torn into strips. I hear screaming, and am startled when I realize that it’s me.

I close my eyes and feel his presence. I hear the awful gurgling of my parents as they are slaughtered. I see their bodies slump lifeless to the ground, their blood pooling at his feet.

I close my eyes, and I can see her screaming, though I hear no sound. I feel the heat of her blood spill over me as they cut into her. I watch, helpless, as the light fades from her eyes.

The Wolfen come, and I open my eyes.

I open my eyes, and her eyes are the last thing I see before the world reasserts itself.

After all these empty years, through all these many weary miles, and the endless, burning pain, I have found him!

I have found him!

I have found him, but Isis has bound me to another purpose.

What do I do now?
