Missing Home

Gonna Head out Towards the Sea

I love the silence
But this silence’s killing me
Sitting here in silence
Man I don’t get no peace
The waves upon my shore
Take me away, piece by piece
Gonna leave everything I know
Gonna head out towards the sea
Jump off the silence
Gonna head out towards the sea

I love the city, man,
But this city’s killing me
Sitting here in all this noise
Man I don’t get no peace
The cars below my street
Take me away, piece by piece
Gonna leave everything I know
Gonna head out towards the sea
Gonna leave this city man,
Gonna head out towards the sea

Get miles away, get miles away
Get miles away
Get miles…

I love this planet
But this planet’s killing me
Sitting here in all this grass
Man I don’t get no weed
The sweat coming from my paws
Take me away piece by piece
Gonna leave everything I know
Gonna head for the galaxy…

Get miles away, get miles away
Get miles away
Get miles…

Well, Bexx….you’d never believe it, even were you here to see it. I’ve stepped off Matilda and into… the Twilight Zone? More like Lord of the Flies! Yes, visited an island inhabited by kids, no adults around. Feral kids, perhaps ruled (at least influenced) by a dark, supernatural power. The volcano at the center of the island held some treasures, at least for me. Remembrances of our old world. A ley-line nexus threatened the stability of the local geography. I think the rubes I travel with attribute it to vengeful Gods… sigh. In the bowels of the volcano (I went swimming in burning hot magma! Lava! FUN!), I came across a shiny bit from our world as well: the codpiece from a Glitterboy! Imagine my surprise! Yes, I now carry the chromed ball-sack of a suit of Power Armor. Curious to see if it’s still laser-proof, but that testing may have to wait a while; Bertie is a plasma ejector, and I think the locals are a few centuries (perhaps millennia) away from laser technologies. They hardly need it, given the relative abundance of magick on their world. It is low-grade, quite weak magick compared to the blistering levels back home on Rifts Earth, but there are mages here who regularly draw PPE…

Ah, Bexx… who am I to turn to now? CrIsis keeps changing, and I’m not sure if it’s evolution or devolution… you were a steady and constant friend, and now… well, I refuse to believe that you’re truly fish-food. And seeing as how the kids on this island spoke American, I’m inclined to think that the gobbler that got you probably just took you back home. Say hi to the folks back there for me, would’ja?

It seems we’ve come into a wealth of a substance called Gantrium… a super-condensed PPE-metal. I’m hoping to have Greminor… ah, but you never met him. A decent elf, if a bit high on his own prowess… but a good craftsman nonetheless. Yes, hoping to have the elven alchemist craft a gift for me from a small portion of the noble-metal.

In completely unrelated news, it seems with my limited instruction, the rubes I travel with have finally caught-on to the more elegant footwork exhibited by moi re: the martial arts. Finally! Perhaps now I will have a worthy sparring partner… hah! Yes, they have upped their game, and act at least as quickly as I do. The monk took the least instruction, which was surprising on one hand, but otherwise… well, it’s just as well, honestly.

It feels like my yoga regimen has fallen-off. Perhaps it’s just a plateau, as Elanu said would happen, but it’s been a while and I feel no more limber or… calm. Centered. Focused. You know that’s what he attributed his longevity to, huh? Bloody yoga! Hah! Sure would like to see that ol’ fella again. Jeez, must be missing home something fierce…

Well, gonna go listen to some good’ol’tunes, take me away from this place for a bit…
Still working on a spell to convert PPE into usable energy in E-Clips… keep thinking I’ve found a break-through, but nothing quite has lasted. Fizzle. Rats.

Anyhow, hope you are well,
Wherever you are
