To Quote Gwydion, “I Said What!?”

To my beloved fiance, Nara,

It is often said that Priests don’t have a sense of humor. Nothing could be further from the truth! Earlier tonight I had the extreme pleasure of watching Osiris’ Unyielding Strength with humorous favor. He was giving a rousing speech about how he could address the concerns of his fellow running mates so he might garner their votes. Even though we had made another deal with that rapscallion, Mangy Carl. Xerx’ses had pointed out we had failed to honor part of the bargain for his aid to get us into a secret location when the time came nigh. I asked him how he can work with the man that killed Overkill after having a disagreement with, Khonsu’s Reaper. He said that Carl knew he would have an accounting when the Lawgiver was reborn. Until then a war was waging and he would use the weapons at his disposal.

He has changed, grown. He seems more comfortable opening up about his feelings regarding war to me but there is no mistaking that his rise to becoming a demi-god has changed him in ways we have not fully seen. During his speech he was joking and getting his points across while holding his hands up for lightning target practice. Yes when you make your pitch to become a leader of the mages you must be attacked by magic to see how you fare under duress. It simply pleases me to watch and be witness to the ascension of a God of Light. According to what the collected parts of the Lawgiver, Osiris, told him that “oaths” & “vows” are to be his purview. He is now becoming a stickler for wording in his negotiations.

However, it was during Gwydion Belgarath’s speech that everyone – including Grand Druid Devacious – found I had stolen the show and Gwydion’s voice with miraculous effect! Oh dearest, I managed to waylay a master wizard and self-avowed researcher of darker schools of magic with a spell that allowed me to control his voice. I waited till he was almost done and then made him say, “AND THAT IS WHY I AM OFFERING MY FULL SUPPORT TO XERX’SES FOR HEAD WEAVER!”

You would have thought a god spoke for the moment of silence that hit the room and the look on Gwydion’s face that spoke volumes of shock and awe trying to mouth out, “I Said What!?” The lightning bolts that hit him ended the speech. While I can’t confirm they were from Gul Sharzol, I feel it is a safe bet him, or a crony levied the arcane lightning. There was for more shenanigans and one death of a follower of Set, but that part of the tale belongs to No Name, also a member of the Tri-Arcanum Guild.

May the blessings of Isis be upon thee my sweet,

Indaris Excellar, Seeker of Isis,
